I took my jewel off using freezer method, then i was trying to take glue off
so i used goo off, then it spread on the top above jewel area part
now its making my case white color, when i use water it goes away and is green a
while later it goes back to white, how can i make it stay green again

i would reccomend using some type or oil becasue it will give it the effect like water is on it making it look normal but wont dry like water.

I just think it’s funny; with a name like "xboxhaxorz" you would think he would know not to put random chemicals on your box without testing it out on a place that is not visible
Anyways after the flame I feel that I should at least give a helpful suggestion. You should get a buffer and try to get the “x part” as clear as the ribbed part.

posible solutions...
a. put the waranty seal back if you dont brake it and return it to the store as damage.
b. buy another one, remove the waranty seal(dont brake it), switch the cases, return it to the store as damage.

By trying to mod his xbox, instead of just leaving it stock like you suggest, he's a disgrace to modders? Whatever.
But I don't see why you were trying to remove the adhesive since you're going to cut that part out anyways, but whatever. Before you do anything else, let it sit a day and wait for any moisture in it to dissipate. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything you can do to get it looking stock again. You might want to try painting just the X portion black....that'd cover it and you'd still have the clear green base part. Might look cool. Good modders can turn mistakes into something something that actually looks good. Lemons/lemonade, etc.

Halo xbox is mere SE not LE.
NeOnRaBbIt
Apr 27 2004, 12:57 AM
LE in a way that they will only be makin them for a while but if u say SE then theyd probably be makin them forever...
though i think the black x idea is good or try an do some art around that area and cover up the mess....
AnThRaX
Apr 27 2004, 01:00 AM
Well SE is more a special production which in this case it is. LE is simple for Limited Supply (Limited Edition). And I would call it a SE since it's special that we got one for once, so I'd say because of this months sales beating Ps2, then they will produce more. Or possibly RE-RELEASE it the day halo 2 comes out, but it will come with Halo 2 as a bundle and maybe be redisigned?

I would have to say good for you, for having the stones to have a go at modding your new case. I would also not have known that goo gone would do this to your case. My only suggestion would be finding some type of oil or oil based product and layer over the bad spot and let it sit there overnight to let it really seep into the plastic.
If you come to the conclusion that nothing else will work, shoot me a PM.

A little late for that...
You may want to try and shoot on a thin coat of either gloss, semi gloss, or matte finish clear coat onto your Xbox, though I think either semi gloss or gloss will work better (it also depends on how you want your Xbox to look afterwards). It'll act like putting water on it or rubbing oil into the surface; it'll essentially "wet" the surface, permanently.
Good luck

You did satin, burn you Xbox.
But, some of the best Mods come from goof offs... oops, goof up.

I think you should SAND down the top of the box with an electric sander. Use really fine sand paper. Then follow the steps on how to polish an Xbox jewel... but do it to the top of your case with a high speed sander.
It is possible in theory to buff the surfaces as clear as the side fins… good luck.
If all else fails… paint it black.

No, no, no
Buff the x part on the buffing wheel and polish it out with tooth past, a lot of people have been thinking of doing this. It would look really cool if the x was clear. Think about it your first person to fuck up the halo le box (congratulations) take one for the team and try and see if it will work

I agree, make it clear. A nice clear green, that would be nice. What would that make it, an LE SE??? Anyhow..like other people said, you at least had the balls to try something. Its like the first people to try a modchip in an xbox. When they first came out they were like $300 which is almost twice the cost of the box you're messin with, but did people say "you are idiots for doin that"? Ok, some people probably did, but anyhow, good luck, and I am actually excited to see what comes out of this.

Here is what you do and you wont feel like an idiot and your box will be the hottest ever. Ok listen carefully and get ready to take notes young lad. If you go to walmart in the hobby section (where they have model cars and whatnot), you can buy transparent candy apple red spray paint. I used this paint to paint my tailights on my old car and they came out sweet. This is my best suggestion unless you are willing to try and return. But the paint works well, and really is transparent. Then you could go ahead and have the only red clear xbox. It would not appear transluscent like your green one, but led's and or cathodes would light right through it. That is all I can suggest and hopefully it will work. I do not gaurentee it but no offense it cannot look all that much worse. No im not flaming you or anything like that. Modding is the shit and if i hade the money id mod that halo box.

the person that has the best idea that works for me
will get free or discounted shipping on any or all items in my bst thread too
i rather have my case back in original state, if i cannot do
then i probably have to return it then
btw, next time i try it, how do i get the glue off
i wacked the jewel after going in freezer, and it came off
but glue was still on it
also, i used a hole saw on my regular old cases and made a hole, but it was
not a perfect hole, which i didnt care about back then
but with my le, and putting a halo mcheif jewel, i rather get it perfect
i even bought a few more halo jewels from cyon for my 3 other trans controllers

I'll have to argue with you on that one. Any clear coat should work its way into the affected area and resurface the clouded sections of the case, just as water would do.
Also, why is what he suggested gay; because you don't agree with what he said?

see now this is what the scene is about. The guy was in trouble. He had kahunas and messed up... we all have... but members from our great scene pitched in and helped him semi-recover it. A lot of times when reading through the forums I get discouraged because I find a lack of knowledgeable members in the scene but an abundance of inbred cornholers who will flame you and then try to sick uncle dad on you when you prove to them how wrong they are and what miserable wastes of human flesh they happen to be. But not in this thread. Xbox-Savage was really the only one who did that and he means well... he just has some sort of mental issue he's trying to deal with. So we should all give that poor guy a break.... but for the most part this thread is a great example of how we can be neighborly and help people.

soaking with regular non-scented oil would do the charm. I have my HP calculator cover thrown in the freezer by nephew and yes it turn white but after I rub the plastic cover with regular olive ( that;s only i found in the kitchen) and leaving under sun light brought back the color. This might work for your xbox. Just apply more oil ( non scented).
