Ok, so most people I been talking to say smb is easy on mac....then I ask how to access the hard drive instead of just home folder and they say "huh?"
I got xbmc and I setup smb in the config and it works just fine, except I can't access my macs hard drive......only my home folder. I have panther and I can't find anything that lets me setup which users and folders to share only on or off. And to make it worse, I made alias's of folders on other mounted hard drives on my mac in my home folder.....well XBMC don't like that and can't find it. Anyone got any ideas on how to remedy this?

this should have some helpful info. Just dont add a share directory at the end of your smb bookmark and it will default to your main HD dir. or an easier solution is to store your shared files under your home account dir. panther has awesome preset dir for movies, music, etc. i keep most of my media on my desktop or in the movies, music, etc folders and they are easily found thru SMB.
