I thougt evox boot disc was free...ok...
As i understand the x-ecutor 2 lite comes w/ evox, i just dont have the supposed "boot-disc" to use to install the evox dash.

So if i was supposed to recieve a disc when my chip was delivered, please some 1 let me know.
if not, can some 1 tell me when can i find the files to make the evox-boot disc?

Cheerio was right to lock your post the first time (if there was a first time... that's what you're implying). It's against the policy of this Forum to ask for illegal software, which includes virtually anything made for the XBox so far, as it all contains M$ code.

That's asking for pirated software. However, I did miss the first part of the sentence, where you asked if said disc is shipped with the X2Lite. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I don't know the answer to that question, unfortinatly.

It's a grey area if modchips are illegal or not.... even if they were, however, discussing problems with them wouldn't be illegal at all.

This is really gay... in the homepage of this site is advertised were to get modships (wich use the evox dash) there are constant news about diferent software for the "modded" Xbox... heck there is even a DOWNLOAD section... so what is illegal about asking were to find the files for the evox-boot-disc?

Yeah, but as far as I know, OpenXDK doesn't have too many built-in functions right now, which makes it hard to code anything for it. I believe it doesn't support the SPU or use GPU optimized stuff yet (like HW acceleration... could be wrong).

actually, i asked this question as i was chatting with an XBOX rep. He said that xbox modchips ARE NOT illegal. Of course, playing xbox live with one is (since you agree not to when you sign up), but, it's impossible to do that right so we don't have to worry.

i thought that since it used the evox-hdd patch it also used the x-box dash....I APOLOGIZE

I swapped the HD on my Xbox because it dyed on me(out of warranty) so i installed the x-ecutro2 lite but i think i need something in my HD for my Xbox to boot to...right???

The software is illegal (since it was made without MS permission on an Illegal SDK and it contains MS code). You cannot ask for it here for legal reasons (we really don't want this site shutdown do we).

The X2:lite comes with a BIOS but no dash (i am almost positive).

Look in the tutorials for how to set up your new HDD.

Modchips are advertised because they aren't illegal. A mod, for example the Matrix, is nothing more than a chip with some wires. It is not illegal because it does not contain anything. What makes it illegal is how you use it, in a sense. If you flash it with a bios, then it would contain illegal code (the bios, unless it doesnt contain ms code). Thats why most, if not all modchip sellers do not include a bios with a chip. Therefore an unflashed modchip is NOT illegal.

One 'scene' site, newzbin.com, got nailed when somebody posted a serial number on the forums there.

There no reason to endanger this site with useless requests. If you can't figure out how to find homebrew software by now, you are in the wrong place anyway or you haven't looked hard enough.

The first places you should stop in these forums, "Newbie" and "FAQ" obviously weren't checked, as there are quite a few clues dropped there.

Also, in case you're confused, there is an evox BIOS and dash as well- two different evoX's. If someone says "evox", they're 99% most likely talking about the dash, or the evolution x group. If they say "evox bios (or some revision number)" then its the bios. You don't need to use both- you need a bios to flash to your new chip (unless you have an x2, which i see you do), but you don't need the dash to run it.

If you already knew this, i apoligize...but hey, we were all new once, right?
