Ive got a modded xbox with a 120 gig hd in it now. Unfortunatly my xbox seems to have died on me (I hit the power button and my 2.2 lite blinks once and thats it). Anyone know if I buy a premod can I still use my 120 gig hd w/o formatting it? I actually backed up some of my school work and stuff on the hd. Anyways, I installed hd myself the first time around but it was a while ago. I'd have to read up on what to do again if its even possible (w/o formatting that is).

Stick it in your PC, use the HDD unlocking prog (#xbins) stick it in new one, lock it. (I think...)

If the HD is not locked, just put it in the new xbox and it will work.
If it is locked, you will need to unlock it on your PC first - you did make a backup of your eeprom data (including the required password) when you installed the HD originally, right?
