Alright I've seen you guys mention more then a few times we should post a list of hex strings we've acquired and maybe ask one of the Mods to Pin it, maybe this can be it. And since the search feature is kinda ugly during peak hours I was sorta forced to scan threads for my beloved codes I failed to write down a day or two before so why not Kick start things a little bit yeah? Sorry its so short, this is just ten minutes work. Please feel free to share any other hex codes you've found for other games, not listed here. Also please state what video standard your using IE PAL (Europe) or NTSC (USA) or NTSC-J (Japan) I know a hex exists for Breakdown (jap) but I'm unable to locate it ATM.

Great initiative, make a rule of no hex requests, idiots would turn it into a eight page list of "have you got the hex values for game X??" "Whats a hex??" and "Wheres the hex for mS menus!?!? lol i can see it.

Hey Progscan, have you taken a look at Kung Fu Chaos and Extreme-G. They're both pretty good 480i only games.

Where most game are just too lazy to initialize the device properly, Kung Fu Chaos specificaly use field rendering in an half sized back buffer. I managed to get some results but there are a lot of device changes, render in texture and strech to the back buffer of these textures. It's really a tricky one to patch properly.

Maybe when i'll be an old retired man, I'll try to beat that challenge...

Hey I just realised that a hexedit can be made to Hitman 3 to run in widescreen. Is there any chance the same can be done for Manhunt?

Since there is no HD for PAL xboxes, if you change it to NTSC and use a HD pack (like I'll be getting an x2vga soon), will all PAL games need to be patched?

That is, do PAL games not have support coded in since the PAL xbox doesn't support it, or is it coded in (some) games, you just need to run the PAL version on an NTSC xbox?

Anyways, can anyone confirm I-Ninja NTSC? Listed is 89 C9 20 01 00 00 89 4A, which doesn't exist in my xbe. However, I'm guessing it should be 81 C9 20 01 00 00 89 4A as it's the only place in the xbe where 20 01 00 00 89 4A exists. Am giong to edit it and check over the weekend. Will get back to you, but I think there was a typo there.

I think it should be: 81 C9 20 01 00 00 89 4A -> 81 C9 00 01 00 00 89 4A

Why whats wrong w/ the PAL string? Worked fine on my copy.

I can't and don't want to take credit for I-Ninja NTSC. That belongs to Terra if you check the link on the first page, which I must have bypassed over. Instead I looked at the PAL version below this link. I couldn't find this string in the NTSC version, only the one similar to it, which I posted and was then confirmed to work. Had I checked that link I would have seen Terra's post in Dec 03 with the correct NTSC string.

now these hex edit values.. are these for auto detect.. i just found out first hand that hitman contracts and manhunt are only 480i.. but i odnt always play it on the hdtv.. if i hex edit them.. wuld they always try and force 480p or switch back to normal on regular tv..

is metal slug different than other games that were patched? is that why is wasn't patched? kind of like kung fu chaos?

I have yet to see a reason posted for Metal Slug 3 not having progressive scan support. Hopefully someone will figure out and post a hex edit solution for it soon. And while they are at it, they should provide a way to play Mashed in 480p as well!
