My xbox has a matrix chip set to mode 3 with an old X2 4976 blue bios. Everything else is stock. It's been working great. Now I want to get on xbox live. With my setup, will I run into any problems? Will the new xbox live's always connected feature detect the chip?

yes.....unless you put an external modchip on/off switch.
