how can i know if i have a good or a bad dvdrom in my xbox ?

Check the white label, it has a date and a model number. The older ones like mine are more picky.

I think most of the ones made after January 1st from what I've read. But I can't really confirm more than that the one I have is REALLY picky about CDRs. (October 2001, series TGM600)
