probably an incompatible bios for your video chip.
do you know what bios is on it?
does the dvd-rom eject after you boot up?
if so it might be cromwell flashbios and it's just waiting for a disc with your bios.bin file.

ok it flashes red/green then reboots, flashes yellow/green reboots, then just flashes green. How do i disbale the chip? my first chip that requires soldering so a little unexpreienced with the aladdin.

sounds like you got a soldering problem, you will need to redo it
the chip should be off with a quick press of the power button. no longer than a second or else it kicks the chip in.
also, make sure you have no crossed connections and check your board for anything burned or bridged with solder that shouldn't be.
the flashing red/green is usually a fixable problem, the flashing orange or yellow as you say and green is not a good sign...
Best thing to do is take the chip out completely (be very freaking carefull as you could damge the chip as well as the board) and see if your machine still works. If not, there are a few options... but I'll save my breath until you say it's not working.

it works fine once chip is removed

then re-install it.
ground D0 and see if it frags and redo your LPC points leavign d0 grounded until it no longer frags.
I use wires most often to install chips. Easy to diagnose the problem that way.
