I have a aladdin advance 64 (one that actually has a socketed chip) and I was flashing my bios when bam paper weight. I had Evox D6 bios and wanted to upgrade to x2 4983, but while flashing it said erasing, then writing- but it locked up and now I dont have any bios. What should I do?

you can rig a makeshift external programer using an X2 programmer and a little soldering.
or you can remove the SST from the socket and replace it with a working one and use that to reflash.
Only make sure you use Xflash V2 for SST49LF020
evox is known to hang in some casses.
if you are really stuck you can send me either just the SST or the whole chip and I can reflash it for 5$ + postage. These things are small and light and are very cheap to send by regular mail and it only takes a week or so.
