Full Version: Streaming From Remote Dvd Drive Is This Possible

im currently running xbmc-2004-02-01 and relax streaming (running as a service) and its fine for streaming movies/mp3 etc...

i want to be able to stream from the pc dvdrom as well but there is only 1 "location" available with xbmc - can i add the dvdrom drive as another streaming spot in the xboxmediacenter.xml file - eg.

<name>XNS</name>
<path>xns://192.168.1.5:1400/E:\divx\</path>
</bookmark>

<bookmark>
<name>XNS 2</name>
<path>xns://192.168.1.5:1400/D:\</path>
</bookmark>

would that work?

also - ive noticed that some of my divx's have a slightly jerky quality when playing back, this isn't present on the pc or when using xbmp - any ideas?

Well not sure about relax but that is exactly what i do for streaming media from my pc using Samba. so i don't see why that can't be the case for relax.

Why not just make 1 video share and add the DVD drive to it? Then you only need 1 entry in your "My Videos" section. wink.gif
