Hello,

I am looking to upgrade the hard drive in my xbox, I have read the posts about Maxtor and Western Digital being easier to lock and unlock, but also that some people have had problems with certain WD models.

Can any recommend a particular model that they have used or any to avoid?
I am looking at something in the 60-80GB size.

Thanks,
Steve

maxtor drives all i've comin across are lockable and you dont need to worry about this feature if your not going to use xbox live.

I thought that was the case and as I don't plan on using xbox live, I guess any reliable drive will do then, any recommendations?

I recommend getting a WD drive.. by now, 120-160 gig drives are only a little bit more expensive than 80 gig ones (~20 bucks), so I'd go straight for one of those.
