Is there a way to test the integrity of the WE connections without risking the bios that is currently on the TSOP. Its been a while since I've flashed it and I know I can use a multimeter etc but I want to avoid handling my board as much as possible as I worry about hotspots. Just curious wither there is a program or a function to test this.

evox will ID it before flashing, then press Y to cancel.

But Evox will ID it before it knows whether or not it can be written to. I've seen what evox does in that situation, it will sit there trying to erase forever. I was wondering if there is software to confirm the integrity of the jumpers.

if you get a valid ID it is good.
don't actually flash, cancel. (whatever button cancels. now that I think back again I think Y is to flash)

it can still get a valid ID and fail.
I think what he means is, is there a way to test if it will work the whole way through without actually flashing.
well, NORMALLY, if you are able to backup the bios you can flash ok.
for proof of concept get raincoat .7 and follow the help provided to backup the bios. if it goes ok, then follow the help to flash the bios.

evox will give you a vaild ID if the chip is write enabled (if it were to fail it would be for other reasons)
the only way to test if it can be flashed 100% is to flash it 100%
