i transfered my freinds music to my box, and when i use mxm it doesnt play in the bground, it does on his however, but when i rip a cd to mine, it plays that files

You need to add that in your MXM_Skin.xml and make sure that you have a Music dir and place your wav files that you want to play in it.

you transfered the wma file. BUT.. all the music has to be added to the MS database, which it was not.
Did you try to play them in the MS Dash? they shouldnt work there either.
you need to use one of the PC to XBox soundtrack managers, or rip them from CD so they database is updated correctly.

Incase you missed there's a new app called VXCR or Virtual Xbox CD Ripper. Check it out in the development forum I think.
