I recently bought a Maxtor 160gb HardDrive 6Y160P0 and I installed an xbit and everything went smooth untill I downloaded Slayers and XDisk, When I install a dashboard eveything goes smooth and installs but when I try the modchip it does not work at all (gives me dashboard can not be lauched error) and if the modchip is off the MS Dashboard does not launch at all. I have no idea whats wrong, could someone help me?

first the mod chip must be working if it runs your setup disk
so you must not have any dash in C:\
evoxdash or xboxdash if so one of them would boot
use FTP to copy your C:\ backup stuff to xbox

Also if your harddrive is not locked then m$ dash will not boot with the chip off.

What bios are you using? You should make sure that your bios is pointing to which dash you want to boot and is named properly... i.e. some people have avalaunch as ava.xbe some have it as avadash.xbe... as for when the modchip is off, you have to lock your HDD for it to boot the M$ Dash.
