I don't get this post just seems like a newb that doesn't know a skin from a painted xbox or a new to an old LE.
Those 2 le's have been discussed. Currently the pure white one is of sale, well 1000 made in the world. But, they are still around. Translucent blue's have yet to be of sale since the held release of the well anticapted online DOA sequel, DOA Ultimate. And I think they also fixed something with the Kasumi thing as well..

Art?
Looks like he used off-the-shelf "crackling" and "granite finish" paints available at any home depot or other home improvement store. A few minutes of masking, a couple bucks worth of paint, and your "art" is ready.
Getting a buddy to promote this crap as if he "found it" is pretty lame also.

Your calling me a newb because I put a POST instead of thread? Techincally speaking this whole entire thing is posts. So techincally this whole thing is all a post. That's why people say Oh that guy posted that same shit in another forum. Posted meaning past tense, root word post.

U are very incorrect and did not even understand the question. Of course many peeps have mod skills on this forum. Thats obvious. However many of these same peeps perform mods so as to make a profit by possibly selling their finished mod, whatever it may be. And the majority of time its sold to non-modders but who just play xbox, Example ebay. Maybe u should read slower and not be so quick with an answer that is obvious but was not even asked. So the question was not about the peeps in this forum but non-modders who own a sorry black case and don't even know theres other choices of cases out there.

Well u see I don't have high regard for non-modders out there and their opinions. Cause to them everything usually looks great cause they haven't seen much. So I came on this part of the forum cause I respect the hard working modders and their case mods that have been accomplished by so many peeps here and have posted pix of them. I like to think I respect everybodys opinions but I have come across so many "haters" that its hard to stay quiet. Many cases here are very lovely that the masses should have a chance at buying them. If not this place would become like a Museum where u can only see and not own.

I do it mainly as a hobby and for the knowledge. Though I will admit my specialty is not in case mods. I'm more into the software and TSOPing. And I mod for free any friends and family and if a stranger wants a mod u better believe I will charge then.

Well when they first came to me with the idea of doing a "cracked" painted case I thought it would be but ugly... and it is... I like the stone one my self. You should FEEL it.. its amazing.. kind of like the kids playgrounds these days. I love it... How ever the thing that you have to realize is when you have these boxes in front of you and your looking at them you can see the hours of work that went into making them. You can run your hand over them and feel the textues on them. I thought that the paint mod boxes would look like crap and would be a big hit. I've seen some REALLY HORRIBLE paint mods in my day. I can honestly say that these are really primo. The guy doing them pays really close atten. to detail and takes some of the most damaged and ungly cases, repairs them and then makes them works of art that can not be duped. They are unique. As for the few people saying about modding for fun or profit. I can say this. When I fix my friends computer, I'm doing it so that we can play a game online, or just because they are my firend. If a stanger asks me to fix their computer you can be very sure that I'm going to charge them. Wouldn't you? Now whats wrong with taking your hard working hobby and offering somthing like this to the public... its kind of like mod chips. (Even though TSOPing is 100x better than useing a mod chip for 90% of the time.) Some one had to spend some time and energy to make them. So why not sell them? Why not do it for fun. WHy not save some time and engery and make your friends crave a unique case?

I think the issue is that you guys (or is it all one person) are hyping it up as "art" and trying to tell people it's something special and took a lot of effort, when it's pretty obvious you've just used novelty paint from home depot. I don't have anything against the paint. I know some people like that stuff.
But don't insult the intelligence of the real modders in this forum by making this out to be anything more than a simple single-color paintjob.

Hello XBOX fans. Im the guy who paints these cases you've been discussing. I wasn't interested in registering at this forum, but guest posts aren't allowed, and it also sounds like you all need to hear it from the source.
YES, these are SIMPLE, ONE-COAT paintjobs, and YES i found the paint at HOME DEPOT. What's your point? Those of us on this forum who HAVE done spray-paint jobs on cases will all agree that it is time-consuming, and takes effort, even if all the prep-work is placing and cutting masking tape. To have a quality job, you have to pay attention to detail. If you haven't done it, you don't know, and cannot assume that it can be done in your sleep.
Thus, for those of you who haven't done it before, and say it's easy, i challenge you to do it. Do it and then see if your opinion changes. Also, do it while you are paying your bills (if you have a place to live that YOU pay for), going to college (if you're getting an education), and taking care of a family (if you don't live alone). If you don't have these other time-consuming tasks to tackle, then yes, you can say it was easy simply because you had nothing else to do. Otherwise, those of us who do it, while having a challenging life to tend to at the same time, will agree with me after doing it, and will take some pride in their work, even if it is a "simple" single-coat paint job.
I don't want to be malicious in my opinions. I just want to educate those who criticise things they have not done themselves. I appreciate all feedback, good and bad. I'm not plotting a sneaky tactic to get people to buy them either. I really don't care if anyone wants to buy them. I just like to look at something that took me alot of time to do and feel the satisfaction of a job well done. If you would buy one, good for you! Send me an email and we'll discuss what you want it to look like. If you wouldn't buy one, then don't. Simple. Or better, make one yourself! You'll have pride in something you did yourself! I have much more respect for people who do their own work.

Well said T_A_T_E_N_O_K_A_I.
And to all those that keep sayin that the man deserves no credit or that it's and insult to call it art. Well try walking into a museum and seeing some painting that looks likes a 3 grader did it and complain out loud that it's not art, and yet it's valued at over several thousand $'s with probably an age of several hundred years old. Art is eye of the beholder, it's relative. Not all have to agree or like it.
Another example is TSOPing an XBOX. It's extremely simple to do just 2 tiny drops of solder to enable the Erasing the rewriting capability of its current BIOS. And then it can have unsigned software written to it. (Except for the version 1.6) Very simple but yet much respected! Yet knowing that many peeps even in this forum spent money on a mod-chip that did not even need. (Except for something like the SmartXX, with awesome features).
The point is in history some of the biggest discoveries and accomplishments where at times found by mistake and yet very extremely simple accomplish and to duplicate.
U don't see peeps flamming TSOPers for using such and easy method. On the contrary they are much respected.
So why bash something u think is simple. Instead give credit to the simplicity of it and just add what u think could make it better.

Are also insulted by such simple methods that TSOPers use to mod their xboxes instead of using mod chips like the majority of peeps who've had their xboxes modded?
