My MS Dash is gone and my Evox dash is gone! But I have the X2 4978.03 bios so when my Xbox boots up it goes to the Ftp server screen. the problem is that I can't conect to it for some reason and my EvoX boot disc isn't loading.

Shouldn't the disc load even though a dashboard isn't on the hard drive or is it the bios doing something wrong???

Thanks biggrin.gif

Even if your hard drive was completley blank, the disc should boot and bring you to whatever dash is on the boot disc (evox in your case). Just make sure you made the boot disc correct,

default.xbe and evox.ini files on there at least. You can drop on a dummy file if you want. And just make sure the settings in the evox.ini file match your router setup since you can't edit that file on the cd. (best burt with dvd's)

hmm.. slayer has msdash files, i would try reburning your evox disk.

I read somewhere that the 4978 bios looks for evoxdash.xbe first so when I make a boot disc evoxdash.xbe should be in the root of it or default.xbe??

it's looking for c:\evoxdash.xbe , not d:\evoxdash.xbe
when burning a disc rename evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe
for convineince you could just copy evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe so you have both on the disc.
