How come when i copy my personal dvd's with dvd x copy and i try to play them on xbox they won't play and i get this non valid disc screen? Is there anyway to make it so i can play these dvd's on my xbox? Because they do play on regular dvd players.

Thanks
chefelf
Make sure the media you're using is compatible with your Xbox's DVD drive.
Chancer
You do have the utility to play DVD on the box I assume or the playback kit. If you do then it will be as chefelf says incompatible media.

Well it's a copy of my dvd's.... which is a dvd so since it might be a little different than original dvd's but still containing the .vob's and the same layout as the original i don't understand why it wouldn't work unless there's something i can do to make the media play on it.

As Chancer said, do you have the DVD playback kit?
3l3m3nt
Yeah i have the dvd playback kit.... regular dvd's work but ones i backup with dvdxcopy aren't working which doesn't make sense because they work with regular dvd players.

are you using -r or +r

the xbox won't read both, more newer players read +r and not -r

so switch media is what they are saying

yes, the same xbox can read both + and - media. this depends on your DVD drive. thomson will read + and - but samsung will only read -. (don't know about phillips)

what drive do you have and what media are you using?

I believe i have the thompson and i have no clue what media i'm using. How can i find out?

um...just check on the disk itself blink.gif

Unfortunately you have the Thompson DVD drive... It's the least forgiving of them as far as media is concerned. Check the Burning Forums for the best media to use for that drive.

My personal experience is that it was hard enough to get Xbox games to play on a Thompson drive, much less anything else...
