can xmp play divx files (.avi) ? I have the latest version of it!!!

I assume it can because i have the files on cd but i put it on and its takes a lifetime to load and when it does i plays the file very very slowly like frame by frame

What's wrong?

If i get the xbox media center will the fle play fine?

Yes, XBMP plays divx.
Give XBMC a shot as it's a whole lot better and *may* help some.
There may be some issues however depending on:
what DVD-Rom you have
what res the divx file is
what audio does it have

Also, when I first modded my Xbox with XBMP some of my videos would run really shit like how you're describing it.
What fixed it for me was I download VirtualDubMod (google it, I don't have a link handy. Maybe doom9.org) and remuxed the file.
To do this open the movie, go to streams>stream list and save the audio track as a wav or just demux it, then disable the audio stream and save the video (direct stream copy).
Open that file (Video only) then go into streams again and add the wav/mp3 or whatever.

See if that works.

thanxs for the help man

1. my dvd is a phillips
2. the res of the file is: 640x480
3. the sound is: MPEG layer-3, 128kb/s

what can you tell me about this?

At a guess I would say that it's because they're being played from CDR, try burning to a CDRW and see how it goes.

how do you put avi video files into a cdrw? do you just make a data disk with avi files or do something else with it?
dragonfire020
You just make it like you would make a normal cd-r.
