Is there any way to run Xbox Live on a modded xbox. I currently have Xbox Live on my unmodded box, but I want to get a modchip. I have heard that MS bans your xbox (some kind of hardware ID?) if it is modded. I have also heard that if u put a switch on your modded xbox (from normal to modded), that Live will work fine. Can anyone confirm this? I just payed 50$ for Live, so I don't want to end up messing it up.

Install switch on modchip. Turn modchip off, play on Xbox Live with original games. HD has to be locked.

To play backups and no Live, turn modchip on but don't access any Xbox Live tabs within a game or on the MS dash.

Or do the mode 3 eject trick.

what is the mode 3 eject trick?

- Put and leave Matrix in mode 3.
- Turn on Xbox and let it boot to either the MS dash or EvolutionX.
- Run a backup or an original game, and when it is running, press the eject button on the Xbox.
- Original BIOS will load, modchip is now disabled, and now you can run Xbox Live with original games.
