hello i just wanna test out a theory that i found floating around about detecting the xbox version by looking at your serial number.

1) look at the last 5 digits of your xbox serial (mine was 21502)

2) then look at the following and see where yours falls under (ignore the X's)

Xbox model 1.0 = 21XX3
Xbox model 1.1 = 23XX5
Xbox model 1.2 = 30205
Xbox model 1.3 = 31205

4) post a reply to this topic and tell us all what version your xbox is and the last 5 digits of sersial



*note* version 1.4 - 1.6 xbox's are not known by be so if you got one people post so we can try to figure out what they are.

I'd love to help, but my serial number was smeared and everything is gone. Is there any other place the serial number is? I have a 1.4.

yep there sure is, you can load up config magic and its the first thing displayed.

you can also load avalaunch if that is your dash and go to:
Settings > Main Options > Hardware Info
and it will display it in there.

I have evox dash (but want to try others). Only avalaunch will display it? I still have the box open, if its in there. Just finished putting the x2.3b pro in.

But doesn't your own serial disprove your theory?

im thinking 1.0 is that or lower that why min is 2 and not 3.
but all xbox ive been coming accross seem to be matching up with the first 2 digits
