They will only be used in the XBox, so PC transfer speed isn't an issue.
They all have 2Mb buffers
They are all from aria.co.uk
Many thanks

My friends and I have 120 gig Samsung hard drives. They are quiet and don't get hot. My friend RonJeremy has a removable drive bay on his. With the latest Evox dashboard he sees no differance in speed between his 7200 rpm drives and his 5400 rpm Samsung. People will say the 7200 rpm will be faster but look at the controller that the Xbox has. It uses a ATA33 cable.
It wont make a differance how fast the drive is when you have that bottleneck. It's like putting a fast drive in a old Pentium computer with a ATA33 controller. With the slow controller on the board the 7200 and 5400 will run the same speed because of the bottleneck. The 7200's will only make more heat in your Xbox.

I have a seagate.
It works fine, dont get hot and no noise.
I love Wd products (I've got 2 in my computer) but you may issues if you try to lock it in the Xbox.
Some may, some wont lock. It is important if you want to go live.

I still suggest the WD. I have it, it's quiet, not too hot, and seems fast enough. Got mine on the cheap, too.

I seen lot of ppl having problems locking 120gb with 8mb caches. "special edition"
I had probs finding 120gb 5400, they have told me that they are now just making them 7200.
Not sure!

Dont get a 7200 rpm, get the 5400, much cooler.
7200 is not any faster.

DO NOT GET THE MAXTOR! I had one, and it was slower than dog shit. It worked for awhile, then it took about 5 minutes just to get to the evox screen. I then bought the 120 gig WD that you mentioned in the poll, and have no problems. Neither have my other three friends that bought them. Get the WD.

7200 rpm is a good choice...newer 7.2k drives don't even generate much more heat, bearings and such have gotten very efficient. The WD is your best choice.
