I have modded a few xboxs before and never ran into this problem, I can not find any broken traces or problems with the points i soldered. I think there is a possibility a resister or component on the mobo may have been fried. Could this be possible, what part could it be, and how can i find out?

go through the lpc diagnostics in the tutorial section... That should help if you have a broken trace...
Also, what type of modchip... It might be a ver 1.5 board with the power & ground disconected...
Need more info...
