you can use evox to format the f drive but you would have to be sure you have the space to create a f drive. there is no point in formatting what isn't there

It would depend on the type of hardrive your xbox comes with. Some come with a 10 gb but the most come with just 8 gb hd's.

aren't the 8 gig drives composed of a 5 gig E drive, a 1 gig C drive and a possible 2 gig F drive. I have about 5 gig on my E drive, how do i get the extra 2 gig from my F drive.

No matter what hard drive you have, your C:, E:, X:, Y:, and Z: partitions are the same size. Their sizes are hardcoded into the kernel. X:, Y: and Z: are each about 700 MB, which is what you were missing.
I believe you can tell what kind of hard drive you have by running ConfigMagic. I think EvoX should also tell you in the hddkey.txt file (after using the "Backup" tool). Seagates are 10GB, and WD are 8GB.
Also, you have to be using a hacked/patched BIOS in order to be able to use F: drive. i.e. PBL or nkpatcher.

If you have an 8GB drive, thn you will not be able to format another 2GB. You can only do this if you have a 10GB drive (or larger). In other words, find out which drive you have first.

first off you gotta find out whether or not you have a 10gb drive

then, if you do have a seagate, you gotta format the f:\ partition...

thats gonna be a problem, first of all i don't use evox, i use mxm. i presume that won't let me format it.
secondly even if i did have a 8 gig hard drive, then where the hell is the other 2 gig, if 5 is on E and 1 is on C.

sorry for late post, been away for a couple of days. i have successfully installed evox onto my system and it is showing on my apps menu. how do i get it to show on my dashboard menu instead? i think it looks better that way.
i saw an option called 'enable f drive' and that was already set to yes, how do i enable acess to it?
