Hey...Does anyone know how to tell (by serial no. or anything)what drive in in what xbox off the shelf. I want to purchase another xbox to modify and the last one I bought 6 months ago still had a thompson drive. So is there a way to tell if its a samsuang drive in the box.I really don't want that crap thompson drive...thanks

nope you gotta open it to know for sure. someone said a couple days ago that "a serial number ending in 06 had 99.99% chance of having a sammy". so my buddy bought one the other day, s/n ending in 06. i pop the damn thing open and its got a phillips.
