installed an executor and when i boot it up it boots up as normal ( with the xbox logo and everything). does this mean the chip is installed correctly or does it have to boot up different because of the chip...like show a different logo... how do i know if its working or not?

When I had that chip it did that too. I just had to play a backup and see if it work or try to install slayers new installer and see if it work.

With an xecuter chip you will see no difference in your xbox except for the fact that it will boot unsigned code.

you can't see the difference while booting the xbox with an xecuter1. It has an older bios that doesn't change the boot-up logo.

Just try to boot a homebrew cd or an import game.
