Hi!
I flashed one xbox succesfully,
but the second ....
I used the hard drive "hot swap" method with xlinux and soldered
bringing myself up to the point where i turn the baby on for the first time
after soldering and need to select flashing the bios from the menu.
But I had this crappy tv that i couldnt figure out how to tune in (long story)
so the point is I turned off the flashing red (as it should be) xbox to tune the tv properly.
Now when I turn the xbox on for the second/third/fourth times it no longer
flashes red but stays green and is stuck in a reset loop.

I am thinking I should maybe go back and do the hotswap procedure again
and THIS TIME make sure I flash the FIRST TIME I turn it on.
But the good comp I was using for the process is now gone and this
would be a huge pain in the @ss.
So I wanted to get someone elses opinion (I am extremely noob) b4 i bother.
I am gonna cry if I have to bin it.
Thank-you very much for your time.

I think I have done a bad job describing the method I used as I had a lot of help
and don't know a lot of the technical names, but here is the guide I followed FYI:

Oh no!
But I can't hot swap because the xbox hard drive will never settle down
to the dashboard when it is in a reset loop!

Should i remove the solder?
If so, will I have to hot swap again or would it work if I just:
Unsoldered --> booted up unsoldered --> re-soldered --> booted up again.
Or would I have to get EVERYTHING back to the way it was on the original xbox?

You can hotswap even if its in a loop. You don't need to wait for the dash to hotswap. Just unplug ur DVD drive and it will give you an error screen. The ur HDD is unlocked and you can hotswap it.

cool man thanks a lot ...
So do you think re-hot swapping is the idea,
or are you not touching that with a 10 foot pole?

I don't really understand why after one reboot it would change its situation (from red to green).
I figure (however limited) that it must be because the software is designed for a first boot thingy and it changed somehow.
If that is the case then re-hot swapping seems like the reasonable course of action.
Thanks again...

I wouldn't hot swap if I were you. It broke my DVD drive doing it and it can ruin other things as well in your Xbox. Try finding an alternate method, but if your 100% confident in what your doing, go for it beerchug.gif

its not designed with 1boot in mind. you just got stuck with the clock loop. you should hotswap again to fix the problem. dont listen to blazinkhan. do what noselessmonk said. you can hotswap when the error screen comes up. then restore your orgininal font files. then use the audio hack to flash your box so this wont happen again. (audio hack doesnt get stuck in the clock loop and you only have to copy st.db and the evox default.xbe renamed to linux.xbe and signed w/ xbedump)
