May not impress many, but thats a Mazda FE3 crammed into a Miata. A FE3 is THE 4 banger Mazda engine to own hands down. Add mods...... drool.

Nice. I have to say that I do find the Rotary conversions a little more interesting though. Saw one on ebay that was pushing 365 horse. Talk about a fast little convertible. 
The FE3 is one of the best 4 bangers ever built. High revving. Tough as hell bottom end. Responds VERY well to boost. VERY reliable. The swap of swaps into first gen Probes and MX6s. I'm just impressed someone else appreciates it. While I LOVE rotarys I can't help but be impressed with the FE3.
I agree that it is an outstanding engine. Then again, I am partial to Mazdas in general. 
I too love Mazdas, and their engines. My 91 Ford Escort GT has a Mazda BPD8 DOHC in her, it's very nice

thanks man, I actually swapped out the old one last april to put in a newer one (same, BPD8) with less mileage, this car has served me well and I don't want to let go of a good thing... here, I got a few pics...
