drag the linux folder over mkisofs.exe and drop it.. does mkisofs make a iso?.. ( although it wont be bootable).. You can also make bootable iso using nero.. use the nero bootable cd wizard.. and for boot image use "boot" file in linux>isolinux folder..

It does absolutely nothing.

First up, all you Xbox Ninjas (you know who you are) are incredible!! Just want to know if i've fried a mates new 200Gb HDD. .im sure someone has a quick answer.
xbox 1.0.. installed UXE exploit (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=344432&hl=uxe+tutorial), used configMagic to get eeprom.bin, copied this to a floppy. I then used xboxhdm to create xbox hdd from scratch (had C: & E: from original HDD). Created new HDD OK, then rebooted, locked new HDD with option 3 from xboxhdm, using eeprom.bin from floppy. now when i put this new HDD into the xbox, i get error 6.. from there ive tried unlocking harddrive on PC with eeprom.bin, XBOXSCENE with no luck. is this HDD f0rked? or can someone point me in the right direction?

I have a big problem. I used xboxhdm to upgrade 2 hdd's. but after using it. My PC tries to boot from cd everytime I switch it on. If no cd is in the drive it goes to a wierd screen & comes up with what looks like a mac address & 'dhcp'. The only way to get round this is to put my boot cd in then cancel the install, then xp boots. None of my bios settings have changed & i've even removed any option of booting from the cd-rom drive in the bios. Any ideas how to stop my pc from continually trying to boot from a cd

its your boot order.. when your computer boots press F11 or whatever button your bios use to boot into bios mode.. Now in "boot order" tab.. change First boot to your hard-disk.. second boot to your "cd-rom".. third boot to "removable device"..

may be the eeprom file was wrong.. go to xboxhdm option 3 and unlock the hd with this command : "unlockhd -a".. now after you insert the drive to xbox and if you get a error 7 that means the drive is unlocked..

then boot to the xbox with original drive and use evox to get the eeprom.bin.. and lock the drive with that eeprom..

Sounds like your bios is telling it to boot to the network (thats the mac & DHCP)

If you don't like that you should be able to disable network booting in your bios

@tweakmyknob - i'll give that a try. it sounds like that could be the problem. Although i'm not sure my bios has that feaure

If your ethernet is a 3com or Intel or one of that calibre, the boot rom may be on the card its self... if thats the case, just give it time... it'll try and get an IP from a DHCP server and look for a boot image... when it doesnt find one it should continue on with the rest of the boot order specified in the bios.

turns out in my bios, not only can I select what type of device to boot from...hdd/cd-rom/floppy, but I can also select which hdd contains the OS ( I have 4 in this pc). for some reason it had swapped them around. The actual drive with my OS on was at the bottom of the list. All fixed now. Thanks

Still doesn't work, even with Nero.

Running Win98 on an Intel Celeron.

Won't boot from cd burnt with Nero. Just goes to black screen with flashing cursor.

If it is burnt with Nero using isolinux.boot as the boot image (by the way Nero looks for .ima files not .boot), do you have to restructure the directory at all so that linux is on the top level?

I don't know why it doesn't work, any assistance would be appreciated.

you have to drag all the files and frolder from linux directory to nero.. there shouldnt be a any "linux" dircetory.. but the files inside it..

Hi, i already put tons of HD, im very thanks to all of you guys, i have a question, someone bring me an xbox, but this one doesnt read all the copys, some copys make me boot the dashboard, some not, and its not the dvd rom becuase i try with another one, and its not the new HD because i put the old one again and do the same thing. I reinstal the MS DASHBOARD with the UXE autoinstaller, and the do the exploit thing again, and the xbox do the same thing, whats wrong? somebody helpme!

if the eeprom file is wrong, shouldn't I try to get the eeprom file from the orig HDD first? (already tried again w/ configmagic) and then try unlocking thru xboxhdm? im only getting error 6 at the moment. . .

its the media issue.. it happens.. sometimes some media works and some dont.. most likely the media are you trying arent quite readablel to xbox.. try another brand or type of media.

no.. say I use dvd-r .. but all of my burned dvd-r dont work in my friends phillips dvd-rom.. so I boght him TDK dvd+r.. and all of those works in his xbox.. so you can try another kinds of dvd .. like dvd+r.. if you were using dvd-r now..

o i get what u said now, but, i even change my dvd reader of my xbox and put it in that one that not read, and do the same thing, so , it doesnt mean that the reader wont work? o mean are some xbox inselft thing or what? (motherboard or something)

Its not teh motherboard.. if it was motherboard then none of your games would work.. so its most likely a dvd-media issue..

are you trying to hotswap?.. then may be you are doing the hotswap wrong.. Read dadyj's tutorial on hotswapping.. Now , you need first turn on xbox.. then leave the xbox power one and change the IDE cable.. NOrmally xbox hd is set to cable select so you dont need to change the jumpers.. You need to put the HD in primary master.. The cd doesnt matter that much.. you can out that in primary slave or secondery ide port..

then may be you need to unlock teh drive with atapw.exe.. THat can only unlock with master password which is "XBOXSCENE".

To use atapwd.exe.. boot to xbxohdm option "4"..( boot to floppy image or something like that)..now after it boots..type "atapwd.exe".. now it will scan the HD's. After that.. select your HD.. Press "enter".. now select "security command set".. press "enter".. select "unlock with master password".. and type "XBOXSCENE" and unlock the drive.. [I never used this method but many people did)..

there shouldnt be a data corruption.. its not any software limitation or bug.. Backup the games to PC hard drive and formath the F:\ drive and back them up again into xbox..

Hey its me again twitch. Ok I got my 80GB HD. I did all the stuff right. Then I went to xbrowser( The menu on it dones't work.) I have my bro unix and computer wiz use the command. I del the f0nts folder on the C:/ and put the CD f0nts on. I also copied the dashboard.xbe when I then locked it and connected it to my xbox. I get error 21. I had the hacked files rembers and it was evox. Um if you could help me that would stop me from crying But I can still play games. Please help. I really want this to work.

I followed the instructions exactly, but I can't get my F drive to show up as having any space!!!

your files rae still wrong.. error 21 is dashboard problem.. you have to make sure C:\fonts and xboxdash.xbe files rae correct.. F0onts folder doesnt do anything..

Make sure.. in your dashboard.. you change teh config to use F:\ drive.. if that doesnt do.. then.. format F:\ drive with unleashx..

I changed it in the ini. It just shows as 0 bytes. Of if i don't use the f drive, it will show as nothing. Not even a 0.

You need to format F:\artition.. seems like xboxhdm didnt format it right.. Just get unleasx dashboard.. run it.. use format F:\ drive with it..

sorry.. that was a typo.. I actually meant "are"..



what is a tge menu?.. anyway.. error 21 is a minor error.. that means .. either you dont have any xboxdash.xbe in the root of C:\ or your bios loader is not "signed" or your dashboard path is incorrect..

now.. what happened to your case is .. when you set upped to build a new HD from scratch.. xboxhdm copied all files from C:\ drive but it left the xboxdsh.xbe file and "fonts" folder.. ( because when building drive from scratch..its doesnt copy modified files)..

so what you need to do is.. Unlock the drive.. Go to Xbrowser.. delete the fonts folder and xboxdsh.xbe ( if its there).. and copy xboxdash.xbe and "fonts" folder from your CD to xbox C:\ drive..

I have them In the C: So Im not sure what the problem is. What do you mean by Bios not sign. I got my bios straight from the old HD. Also If my dashbord path is incorrect. How can I fix that?

The xbrowser menu doesn't work. ex 1 help 2 menu etc. Thats what doesn't work.

I just want to tell you everything I did just incase It has something to do with the problem.

1 I unlock the HD
2 then went to Xboxhdm did that. I clicked 1 build from scratch did everything it told me. Also made a E.
3 It never reboot just giving me more options. Restore C:/ I did that and also restored E.
I locked the HD and tryed it out. It gave me a wierd eroor.
4 I unlocked then copy F0nts and xboxdash.xbe
5 It gives me error 21
6. Now Im here lol.

I didn't transfer xboxdash.bak. But im getting a new problem and here it is.
I have a softmodded xbox with a maxtor 80GB hd.
My problem is my halo 2 won't work. It freezes and the menu where it says click start. I tryed using it with the cd and it doesn't work. Other games work fine off the cd and on the xbox. I brough my halo 2 over to my friends and it worked for him.

Im not sure what the problem is. I was thinking maybe the cache but it should still work with the cd. hmm

when im going to rebuild my C drive on my original Xbox Harddrive
do i need to unlock, then repair the drive, then lock it?

most probably you didnt change the boot order.. so your PC first tries to boot primary hd and since the HD is locked.. it cannt do anything.. and next xboxhdm boots..

but if you already changed the boot order then just boot xboxhdm and go to option "3".. and unlock the hard disk and do the rebuilding of HD and then lock it again after you are finished..

If you dont have the eeprom then you need to hotswap.. Read dadyj's tutorial on how to hotswap..
