Hi im new here and want to mod my xbox. I already read and saved the modding guide. I want to know now is what chip i should get. I want

to be ale to save the entire game to my xbox hard drive so i can play w/o the dics.

I want ot (possibly) play ps2 game on my xbox

burn games to a disc.

play xbox live with a modded xbox.

Based on this wich chip should i get? Which does the ,ost of the above things?
thx

If you are looking to solder, I recommend an Xecuter chip. The new Xecuter3 chips are coming out in a few months, but if you need one now the Xecuter 2.3b Lite is great. If you don't want to solder, you can get any solderless chip, such as an Xecuter 2.3b Lite +.

You can copy all your games to the hard drive. However, the original hard drive that comes with the Xbox can only fit 1 or 2 games. You can get a bigger hard drive.
You cannot play PS2 games on your Xbox with any chip.
You can burn games to DVD's (assuming you have a DVD Burner)
You can switch off the Xecuter to play online, but you cannot play copied games on Xbox Live.

you can ditch the ps2 idea.. xbox is not nearly strong enough to emulate that. and i think the executer lite 2.3b is good for playing live and having a mod.

Oh OK thanks...but how do i get a bigger hard drive/more space? And also if i increase my hard drive can i keep increasing it as i need to.
DarkChild
Also since i can't emulate ps2 games how about N64 games? Can i do that with the Xecuter 2.3 lite
thegame_evolution
yeah you can but some N64 games are kinda choppy on xbox.
Oldmanjoe
Most of my N64 games worked fine on Xbox. You need to buy a bigger hard drive and instlall it into your Xbox. An 80GB one stores about 40 games, and a 120GB hard drive stores about 60 games.

thanks...OldmanJoe where can i get this 80mb hard drive?
Oldmanjoe
80MB? Probably in your remote control for your TV. rotfl.gif

You can buy them from any computer store. Or you could look on the Buy and Sell forum on here.

Here is a Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache from newegg.com for $72.99.

what are the differences between the 2.3 lite and 2.3 lite plus other than not having to solder?

damn man, not that i know everything, cause i dont. but if you dont know where to get a hard drive, i would not get closer than 5 feet to any computer or xbox, you might fuck it up

WEll it depends on whether he thought you need a special harddrive to fit into the xbox.

However you can buy any pc drive as long as it's loackable
