I've had this posted in the Newb section and I'm getting a little help. But they mentioned it would be better off here so well here it is.
My box has been working fine for about a year. And then recently when I disable the chip to go to the standard M$ dash it frags on me and displays no Video. And ideas on what may be wrong? Also, if I remove the chip the same thing happens. Thoughts are either the EEprom (which I haven't touched) or maybe a corrupt bios. Also, YES my HD is locked. It's like a Maxtor 80Gb I upgraded to.
Please let me know what I can do to remmedy this. Also, I"m a bit of a noob so laymens terms would really help.
Thanks,

I just remembered that when I'm in Evox and goto System Settings to change the Date and Time. It goes to the M$Dash fine. So I'm not sure if that helps but.....

My drive is locked. It's always been (well since I've swapped, etc.) I used the function in Slayer/Evox. And then I double checked it again using ConfigMagic.

Okay,
I tried renaming the msdash and double checked the hd to make sure it was locked....yep it is. Then I went and unhooked the HD and DVD and 1 time it booted up when the chip was enable to the error 07. But of course I couldn't get it to do that again. It continues to Frag and not show video or sound. This makes me think maybe I have a loose connection?
Thanks for the help.

when its booting with chip disabled, does it try to reboot a few times, then frag with no video?
or does it go right into a frag? also, can you eject the DVD? (i know, sounds pointless, but it does help pinpoint the problem)

It trys to reboot a couple times then Frags. I CAN'T Eject the DVD. And that's why I keep telling you the small things I think of. It could be something simple.....Also. It just occurred to me that I recently scraped up my D0 point a bit to get a better pogo connection. Looking under a Magnifying glass it looks fine but....

could be a bad TSOP bios or d0 is grounding at all times (although i think if that was the case it would always boot the chip whenever its in)
most liekly bad TSOP (means 29-wire chip to fix)

So basically I should just be happy with it the way it is?

Yeah I don't need the original Dash that bad. Just wanted it in case I would ever get Live. Guess that won't be the case now.
What is a good chip, just in case?

if you ever want Live you can flash a retail bios toy uor modchip (provided it has multiple banks)
a good 29-wire chip is the xray3 from www.xraychips.com

So I can just flash the original bios to my second bank on the 2.2b Lite +...................consider it done! Thanks a million................
one last thing, so Live doesn't care about the chip being enabled as long as it has the original Bios loaded???

Well, I found out what was wrong. It wasn't my TSOP or anything like that. It seems that when I boot up with the Chip disabled I need to squeeze the back left corner of the box. Or else it Frags..............weird. I'm guessing there is a loose connection or something.
