i used to be in the mod scene bigtime about a year ago, but i have lost all connections and started up my xbox the other day.

nothing loads at all .it would hang at startup where it says X XBOX in green, It told me i had error 7 upon ejecting the dvd drive. First of all I have Xecuter 2 pro modchip. It would hang at the startup screen after the flubber. I then reflashed the bios, with X2 4983.67_256k in all 4 slots. now the xbox still hangs at starup. I'm pretty sure i had evox.xbe in there on the HD.

what can i do it won't load any games or go to the dash.

is my HD bad? solder job bad? d0?

i mean is there any way i can fix this. it seems like a software problem, HD?

please help me quickly thanks

if you're getting error 7 then open it up and take a gander at ur hard drive
make sure the jumper is set to cable systems or cs , depending on what brand
i had the same issue a long time ago becuz i forgot i moved my jumper

I'm having the exact same problem with my Xbox. With no modchip in, boots past the flubber screen and to the green Xbox logo...but I get no MS logo underneath it and the system hangs there. If I keep pressing the eject button *many* times, I will *sometimes* get a service screen that gives me error code 16. Sometimes I can't even get the service screen to come up.

Keep in mind: it's an unmodded v1.0 Xbox with the original virgin (never tampered with) 8GB hard drive. All original parts to this Xbox are intact and being used, all cables are secure, etc etc. When I last used it, it worked...now about 2 months later, it does not. Unfortunately for me, being a v1.0 Xbox - the warranty has definitely expired...lol

Can't figure this one out to save my ass...any reasonable input is welcome and appreciated!

I was having the exact same problem with mine..In my case, I was able to fix it by putting in a new DVD drive... everything works perfectly now.
