I was working my way through Halo (I'm new to the xbox scene) and over several days I was playing and saving my progress and I could always load up my profile. Well I turned on the box yesterday and my profiles are gone. But, if I try to create new profiles with the same name as before, it throws an error saying that those names are already used. If you go into the multiplayer deathmatch the profiles are listed as battle scenarios. I have since created two temp profiles to play from, but I want the old stuff back. Any ideas?

Try deleting your cache files and see if that fixes the problem.

I tried that and it didn't help. Any other ideas?

Maybe corrupted savegame files. Unfortunately all you could really do is try deleting them (back them up first). You could maybe try Xbox-Saves Manager to see if it makes any distinction between savegame info and profiles. I'm not really sure.
