I was googling for a way to get custom soundtracks without burning Cd's ( my Tomsons drive's doesn't read Cd's

) when I found
this webpage.
Look at the lastest point :
| QUOTE |
7.Playing burned music discs Burn music onto a CD-RW (not a CD-R) disc, and close the session when you burn the CD. Place it in your X-Box and rip away. [/b]Note: This also works with .MP3 files. The Xbox can store .MP3s and replay them later and saves a lot of space when compared to the .WAV files that are standard on audio discs.[/b]

Did you get a error or couldn't the Xbox read the Cd-Rom?

alot of people are getting confused, let me straighten this out for ya.
The xbox will NOT read .mp3 files of a CD-R/RW (or any media for that matter).
However, those saying they have jus done it, well you mean burnt .mp3 as a Audio CD, so that the xbox can understand them again. The xbox's default dashboard will NOT read mp3s on a CD/DVD.
If u wish to get your MP3s on the xbox's dashboard, you will need to burn them on a Disc in Audio Mode (example: In Nero, Select Audio CD, Not Data CD).

If you burn MP3s to disc in "Audio Mode", you are resampling them to WAV format!

yea i kno, dont think everyone here knos that, plus thas besides the point, mp3s are not read by the standard ms dashboard.

MP3's cannot be read on a M$ Dash. What those idiot's up the chain did was take a bunch of mp3's burn them as a regular disc so that they get converted to .wav which is the standard CD form. They converted MP3->WAV->WMA. M$ Dash will never ever convert MP3 directly to WMA. What an idiot!! Do your research, dumba$$!

Let's assume the dude who made that Xbox Trick page didn't know the difference between MP3 and WMA and just assumed WMA is the same as MP3.
