I am looking to begin modding (without any prior experience) and i have been wondering what are the best modchips for me to get. I would prefer a solderless modchip becuase i do not have means of soldering. Also how much time am i really looking into here?

Basically, any chip that allows a pinheader approach can be solderless with the use of the chameleon solderless adapter or the Xapter. Just get a chip that fits your budget, though going solderless, you may as well get the best one since the price difference is minimal.
