your gonna get a lot of differing opinions, but heres the most important reason to go tsop, or even softmod for that reason,
free
now there are other reasons on both sides,
but free is the only one that matters
you can do a switch for your live nonsense, which i dont use becuase its not
free

Tsop flash = no xbox live unless you have an old xbox; free
Chip = xbox live capable; costs anywhere from $15 to $60
Thats the main difference

i got a 1.0 xbox
i plan to flash my tsop to multibios tsop
X2 / Original
i heard that xlive checks the hdd for files.
BUT i got no F:/drive
do they search on e:/ too?
will i be kicked when i have files on it?
do i have to delete these gamesaves from unleashx... every time?

If you do a multibios tsop and ONLY go on live while switched to MS Bios, you will be fine, live will work no worries.
As for MS scanning your hdd, while they 'may' scan it, they don't do anything, you don't get banned for having non ms progs and files on there
Just make sure the c drive is relatively clean, xboxdash.xbe and your xboxdashdata folder should be there and unmodified, and you will be sweet

i knew that when i go only with a patched bios ill be banned, but i didnt knew that i can also go live with files.
when i want to play LIVE! i copied the whole E: drive to pc and turned off the chip :-)
but when i flash my tsop i MUST direct it to E:/default.xbe (evoxdash....) right?
non files on c

well no you can still have your dashboard (eg evox, unleashx)files on c:, i made the x2 bios to boot from c:\unleashx.xbe first then c:\evoxdash then c:\xboxdash.xbe, I just have
unleashx.xbe
xboxdash.xbe
are the executables on my c:
its up to you, you can put your modded dash on C E F or G and it will be ok, I have mine on C and can still play on live great.
hope this helps

Correct me if im wrong, but most of the recent X2 bioses (4891 for example) dont allow ANY xbox live connection, thus saving you from yourself. That means if you switched between a retail and x2 bios like that you would be 100% safe.

Is there a way to do a 4way bios split on a 1.0 box using 1 4way switch?
mephisto455

Just install 2 switches, thats what I did. I'm not sure that a 4 way switch would be able to ground two wires at once which is what needs to be done to access the 4th bank.

If you really need 4 bioses, which i dont think you do, but whatever, just run PBL
