So I think I've done my share of reading, and I'm by no means a noob with respect to hardware/soldering, and I'm deciding on a chip. I like the sound of the 2.6, but my XBox is 1.0, so I'm not sure what I would gain by getting it over a 2.3b PRO. Also, I am a little wary of getting an X3 due to it's novelty; specifically there won't be nearly as many supporting documents out there. Also, system-mods is selling the discontinued 2.3b PRO for $40.
So I guess my questions are:
1. Is my concern regarding support for the X3 warranted?
2. I can't really tell.. besides LEDs, does the 2.6 offer anything that the 2.3b PRO doesn't, my XBOX only being a 1.0?
I think that pretty much sums it up. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I mean, for all the other stuff besides soldering and hardware manipulation, is the X3 going to be more difficult to install/deal with/use for a 1st time xbox-modder than the others.

No, don't necessarily want simple simple simple. Just want to be able to look to others for help if anything goes wrong. I guess several will be in the same boat though, as everyone will be buying the X3 for the first time. I think I'm leaning towards X3 now. Thanks for the advice.
