The save doesn't come with the software if you open AR and look on the left there will be somthing called power saves I think there will be a 007 save and somthing else download one of them.



You have to take the route threw the control panel and hardware section to the hardware list and from there change the drivers or you didn't chang the ini file with usb view. If you haven't changed the ini file there is info on this site some where.

Im trying to get my action replay to work its version 1.41 and i have the cord the memory card but when I want to start it up i look at the grashish lookin icon and it says usb device failed to enumerate when i tried updated the driver it blinked to green and then it went back to it wont enumerate

Hi, I need some help on this guide. I'm sorry if this has already been answered before, but I get stuck on step 1.4 where you have to install an AR driver for the USB drive. I only get MaxDrive XBox as an option, and I have to browse to do so. I'm not sure if that's the same thing or what - I'm new to this. I'm using a SanDisk 1.0GB Crusier Micro and have also tried a 512 MB version of the micro and a 512 SanDisk SD card. Help would be appreciated.

I am going bankrupt buying sd cards and usb sticks that my xboxes wont recognise. I tried a cheap 128mb mp3 player first, tried to format it to fatx using my xbox and usb female to xpad male adapter and that was succesful until i unplaged the player and its fimware reformated the mem. then I used dtek 1 gb sd card but the dashboard started flashing and the xbox didnt recognise it. I bought a 128mb twinmos M1 mobile disk and the xbox gives me the "there is something wrong with your mem card" message but wont format and thus wont recognise the stick. I was wondering if there is any way to format the stick to fatx using a pc.
If anyone has any advice on this their help will be much appreciated plus they will be saving my son's poor father from insanity.

I have a creative MuVo 7x FM and my xbox formatted it but the action replay don't recognize it... i followed the tuto but it didn't work...

BTW when i try to update the driver i can't find the XBOX stuff (only a USB mass storage...)

hey for anyone that doesnt get AR software compatable with your memory device..(i used my camera with a flash card..) you can try to use Mega X key with the Hacked version along with that driver it comes with installed...its called MXK bxbx ....

anyway thats what worked for me, b/c action replay didnt with my memory device.

BUT as soonas it's plugged into the xbox it wipes it BOOOO

This works like a charm! My 64MB QuickDrive USB 2.0 Flash Drive US Modular worked perfectly with AR (though xfers were alil slow) but they copied fine to the xbox!

ok, i got the splinter cell exp. on the usb drive, the xbox reads it perfect. But i cannot copy to the hard drive. There is no option. What can i do from there. And the game wont load from the usb drive.

when you scroll thru the memcard's saves, press Right on the D-Pad, then press A

I followed the guide also, managed to Xfer everything to the xbox HD using a USB stick and AR, but when loading Splinter Cell and try to load the crafty save game, it goes blank for a few seconds, then I get a white screen for about a second and the xbox reboots back to the game and not the Softmod installation!!

Any ideas?

Do I need to have the 5960 MS Dash for this to work? I have some old version that I can't remember right now. I tried the save games from both Softmod installer Deluxe v3 and v2.

Yes you need 5960 dash files, and dont use SID, use a real installer, Krazie's NDURE 1.1

After I posted the previous message, I managed to get it to work with ltools installer and for a little while everything worked like a charm! Until I tried to replace the EvoX dashboard with Avalaunch and that worked also, but from that moment on, all multiplayer/XBL enabled games now freeze at the point you press "Start" to play. Same ones were working previously.

That has to do with the MS Dash right? Or the dashupdate.xbe? I mean it can't be a coincidence that only multiplayer games freeze... can it?

I am of course a newbie in the world of xbox and I've been reading material off the net for about 2 weeks now. I might be talking crap above, but any advice would be of course greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to fix this problem, or would I need to put everything back to the original state and try again?

so is the usb thumbstick worling on 1.6?? and you need the docking station to connect the usb thumbstick to the console, right??

Well, if you look at all the pages in this topic there is a few responses stating that it works for the 1.6. The only question is... Does an 1.6B, 1.6A, and etc. exist? and whether or not they ALL work with the method mentioned previously.

Google is useful but my dialup chokes on everything...

However I can't get any custom dashboards to work. I've tried installing both the
dashes that come with 'Krayzie's NDure pack' (choosing 'single-boot mode'), both
of which appear to install correctly, but the XBox default dash is what loads up when
I reboot the box.

I've also tried installing XBMC dash, and the entire XBox Board.de ultimate boot CD,
with similarly disappointing results.

The light on the front of the box cycles through red/orange/green, and I am also asked to
set the clock each time the box reboots (though I always was, even before doing the softmod)

I'm guessing either of these symptoms might be indicative of the problem i'm having

I have a v 1.4 XBox and did the softmod using Splinter Cell.

Okay, figured out that by just setting the clock I can boot to a non Ms dash. unfortunately
this results in an error:

"Dashboard XBE targets not found in the following directories:
e:\dash\default.xbe; e:\dashboard\default.xbe; e:\evodash.xbe"

Looks like my efforts to 'fix' the dash have f*cked it up.

Anyone know how I can fix it? I tried reinstalling the NDure exploit with
Splinter Cell, but the installer refuses, saying I haven't made the appropriate
backups.. trying to make these backups also fails!

Gday ive been busting my bulls trying to softmod and then 2day i find a littel msg saying that my card wont work on V1.6..... rightio check my xbox... #@#$@$#@#$@#$@#$ V1.6 andyways im using AID with SID if you didnt no and splintercel exploit and im trying to home brew a usb-xbox port but i cant tell if it works if my card dnt work... im using a 512mb Kingston data traveller.... Well i ahve done every thing and for some reason my AR wont read my USB which is a 2gig OCZ Rally is that due to the stick that im using or somthing else becasue i as able to load a save file off my xbox onto the usb stick.

You probably have to look your vendor ID and product ID in USBView then update xbreader.inf accordingly and update driver. It's in the tutorial.

i did that and it still doesnt read it, butg in my device manager it reads it as USBIO controlled devices - MaxDrive Xbox

okay ive done everything perfect checked it no problems with the memory works both with ar and the xbox but when i go to put the save on the memory in the ar software it closes and says an unexpected error occured and the ar software needed to shutdown (one of those god damn error things) i am unable to put any saves on my memory because of this any ideas.

ps. i tried both the new version of ar and the older version both do the same thing.

Just come across this site and this is the closest i have got to softmodding my xbox.

I am using the game splinter cell and have copied both of the save games from ndure's pack. Added them to the AR software and successfully copied them across to my usb stick. I then transfered both of the saved games to my xbox hard drive. Load up splinter cell and choose to load up the saved game (linux) and it just freezes?

I have tried copying the file datelinfo that is used in the tutorial but stil the same problem.

Also what is the Linux installer used for as it cannot be seen when loading up splinter cell??

i finally got this to work i got action replay to recognize my stick as a memory card but i am confused to transfer a gamesave do i have to do the dateline thing?

hey yall, im just letting yall know... that after viewing ALOT of posts and such... i decided to try this.

seeing as how i have a Toshiba 1gb u3 smart usb jump drive, and some of the compatibility lists show this sort of drive as non working or damaged so to speak, well....... (WORKS)

if anyone has one of these, and would like to get theres working

do the steps mentioned in this topic, put this in the first line...

%S_DeviceDesc1%=_Install1, USB\VID_0930&PID_6540

then goto device manager, right click on the device, goto update driver, select "no i will choose my driver", click on "have disk", locate the file, and click next... once that is done, open up the good ol' action replay software, and it should show up. now, before u try to transfer and it gives u some error message like it did to me, right click on your memory card in the pc part of the AR software, and click format. then, u will have a new fresh 1GB memory card for your xbox...

oh, and fyi, when you plug the memory card into your xbox, it will come up saying "device is damaged, blah blah blah", all u have to do is, turn the xbox off, while its still plugged in, then turn it back on, and there u have it

I have managed to get the game saves onto the usb stick using AR, but it seems upon disconnection of the stick the saves disappear? i've scanned through the topics and have not found an explanation for this issue, anyone have any advice? Any help is appreciated.

i got my usb stick to be recognized by max drive/ action replay but when i drag the mech assault files action replay and max drive crash on me any ideas????

ok i have a problem here, i cant turn my AR usb drive back into a regular usb drive, i have the drivers for AR installed but windows keeps saying it doesnt know what the device is and doesnt display it in the device manager.

Ok, I've got a USB to Xbox cable, and I'm using a SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB, with U3 removed, and got to the step where I formatted the USB drive in the Xbox, and attempted to install the MAXDRIVE drivers for it, and fail miserably. I tried this both in Windows Vista x64, and Windows XP Pro. Vista will NOT even recognize the driver provided by the xbreader.inf. XP does, and will show the USBIO in the device manager, but crashes (and I'm talking total Blue Screen of Death) and reboots when I try to update it. I'm down to my last strand of hair here from pulling it all out. I tried TONS of other USB devices, and all were reported "damaged" by the Xbox, except this one. HELP!

Use Xplorer360 beta 6 to read the USB stick - it doesn't need any drivers.

For some reason this forum only shows the first 50 replies, then compacts the rest of them, and it keeps giving me an error when I click on any messages. Anyway, I got 360explorer, but all I get is a "Could not find a FATX drive to open!" error. So does that mean that despite my Xbox reading it (and I erased it to make sure), it's not really FATX?
