I aquired this lcd from a friend he said it was broken.

it has this wierd secondary pcb on the back that connects to all the pins it look like it had the contrast Pot. and a switch assembly that has 2 switches on it the label on the pcb its attached to says 96 ON, about the switch and 24 DL below the switch. I have no experiance with lcds and would like some help

there ar 5 pins on the 2nd pcb (the same pins as the pin header on a modchip) that ar labeled...

|GND
|+5

!!!! on page two of this pdf is the SAME lcd i have..!!!

i would like to be able to hook this up to my xenium just to see if it works.

for now only spi compatible lcds r compatible with xeniums.

Sucks dont it, you have to buy an LCD that costs 3 times as much as the one for the smartxx.

i know that its just that this extra pcb on the back of this lcd is sopposed to be spi to serial converter or something like that because the lcd has the normal 14 pin inputs like a parallel lcd but this exta pcb takes it an give you only 5 pins to hook up plus some switchs and peteniometers(sp?) for contrast control of the lcd.

2 pins are for 5v, 2 are for ground, and one is for serial data input.

greengaint is making a spi->parrell converter for the xeniums. So you can use the cheaper LCD's. They should be in stores soon.

Yeah, even if this lcd does work im still buy greengiants adapter. pop.gif
