My v1.0 finally crapped out on me. The hdd is crashed and my Thomson
dvd had been giving me fits for awhile now. To make this mod quickest & easiest for me, could someone please give me a list of what I need and where to go? Only the best, and don't care about cost. Oh, my xbox v1.0 is stock (MFG. 11-30-2001). I do have a brand new Seagate 80G 5400rpm still in its seashell.

What's the best mod chip for v1.0?

What would be the most user frendly software with alot of features? (bios, dashboard, tools for setting up new hdd, etc.)

Any other good mods that my v1.0 could benefit from?
(Better fans, heat sinks, cables, etc.)

Basically, what's the most stable and trouble free set-up?


Lastly, has anyone tried installing a CMOS battery so when you unplug the xbox, your clock won't dump?
