After installing my chip and HDD about 2 weeks ago, I've noticed that my xbox likes to reset 3 times then FRAG once in a while (around every 10 boots). Usually I just give my xbox a good whack and it's good as new, but it seems lately that I'm whacking it more often.

The last time I opened my xbox and installed my HDD I stripped the hole when installing the screw to hold the HDD tray in place. I don't think this is the problem as I don't move my xbox much and the HDD is still plugged-in and stuff. What else would the reset 3 times then FRAG mean? And should I just keep whacking my xbox whenever this problem occurs or should I open my xbox and hopefully permenantly fix it?

You have a short somewhere in your chip install - I had the same thing, and it would reset 3 times etc.... whacking it is just temporaraly dislodging the short.

Unfortunatly you will just have to check all your conections again. If you cant find a short, look again! Its there!
