I modded a friends box, and his Phillips drive worked just fine, played DVD+RW prefectly. Recently, it gave up the RW's, but still played originals. I opened it up and tweaked it a quarter turn. I put it back together, and now it doesn't even play originals. I took off the top of the drive to see if everything was moving right, and I noticed that the laser doesn't even come on. I didn't touch anything but the pot. Is it possible that the pot is so delicate that I destroyed it, and now no current flows at all?
