Man but at that price it shoulda had more power dude.
The SRT-4 is still most bang for the buck. Hands down.
At least Chevy is starting to get on the ball a little bit with compacts.

I think the commercials say it all. The thing with the Corvette is cute, but notice Chevy never shows a wide angle of the cobalt in any of the commercials, but plenty of the Corvette. So basically they're using the power and good looks of the corvette to sell a bargain car.

Hey chevrolet...It's not a high performance car, and this isn't 1968...
..why would they leave out an automatic trans option? What's the target audience here, men 18-25 who are too hardcore NOT to shift gears, and yet tragically too poor to afford an actual sports car?
It's reminiscent of a drift racer, except without the inherent slickness.

They are simply trying to get their sagging compact sales back up. The cavalier pretty much dominates their compact sales but the sport models stopped selling in 2001. With all the compacts out there pushing alot of HP out of the factory, they must've figured it was the way to go.
All in all it doesnt bother me. I think that Chevy needed to come out with something. As ill conceived as it is. Who knows. It'll probably sell a good amount.
My only beef like I said before is that it's almost as much as the Dodge SRT-4 and it's about 20 HP less. Not to mention it's Supercharged so it's basically not even close to the SRT-4 in terms of performance. Plus the SRT-4 is waaaayyy better looking.
Kinda sucks.

It's the standard 4 cylinder car that is a staple for every manufacturer. Look at today 4 cylinders as yesterday's Celebrities. Cheap pretty reliable cars. Looks are there but oh well. It's just a car.

lol
I'm talking in terms of looks compared to the Cobalt. The neons are nothing special. The SRT-4 in my opinion looks pretty good. Even better when dropped from the factory height.
The Cobalt is ugly, just like the Cavalier before it. That's basically all it is. And that supercharger isnt doing much for it.

Eh in the fact that it's a small two door car? Yeah.
Other than that I dont see it.
Scion is made by Toyota. No cross platform usage there.

Looks like they ripped it off from the Acura RSX. Or is it just me?

All economy class two door cars aimed at the male 16-25 market look the same, no one ripped off anyone else, Chevy is just the first American company to use this approach.

Apparently you never saw a pontiac vibe then have you? Ever notice that they look a little like the Toyota Matrix? Oh wait, they are the same car, made on the same production lines. Just to clarify, who makes Pontiac? Oh yeah, GM.
What I meant was the body lines are similar. I'm not trying to say they are the exact same car.

I happen to have somewhat of a liking for that car. In argument to the SRT-4 vs this Cobalt, I would prefer the Colbalt SS actually, My brother has an SRT-4, yes, its nice... but ive always been a huge fan of superchargers. Granted I would probably never buy this car, but if it were givin to me I wouldn't sell it for somthing different.
