I have a xbox that has a xenium ice modchip and a 200gb hd with media center, avalaunch, unleash x, blackstorm, and tons of other stuff on it. I cannot get the system to work everytime i turn it on!! I have to go back in and take everything apart and take out the modchip and reinstall everything just to get it to work!! It will give me a code 16 or 13 when i start it up! The light on the chip comes on (red) but the xenium os does not show up and i get an error code!! What am i doing wrong Please help!!!!

I noticed a similar problem on the one I just got.

I used a piece of soft sponge, placed on top of the mod chip, and then the dvd drive put back on top created just enough light pressure to keep the modchip snuggly in place.

Before, the slightest bump could knock it out.
After, I walked the xbox all around the house, shaking it and twirling it upside down...
rock-solid....problem fixed...

or you could just do the paper trick, search for it

Yeah I am glad that I did too. I was going to get a solderless, but the people here advised against it, so I didn't. Boy am I glad. biggrin.gif

put a piece of paper under the corner of the solderless adaptor (by the screw - opposite side to the pogo pins).

this helps push the adapter down on the LPC connectors

My led light on my modchip still comes on when ipower up, so does that mean something else is wrong besides not having a good connection??? Does the light still come on and not have a good conect??? Could it be something with the bios on the xenium ice???
