Ehh, I slid my car off the road left foot braking chasing a hot girl on public roads.
I broke one GFX piece and destroyed 2 tires and rims.
So guys, NEVER do dumbass things on public roads. AND, ideas on rims.? 5 X 4.5" bolt pattern? How bout tires? Ive been hearing good things about Yoko AVS100s, Kuhmo Ecstas and a few others. Anyone have some thoughts that won't break the bank.
Maybe Ill post pics of what a 93 PGT looks like on snow tires later.

heh, my car has hubcaps... what do I know?
Thats gotta suck, breaking your rims like that. I would have figured the tire would absorb the impact.

The rims I got are used FDs. Price vs. weight is near impossible to beat. 13.2 lbs 16 inches baby!!!

oh and here is another kind of neat site for rims (not really that cool for buying rims but neat to play with)
tadayou can select you car and then put different size wheels, drop ur car, change paint color... lame after a bit but neat all the same

The Yokos are nice, just don't expect a long life out of them, but if you drive like I used to then that's no surprise. I used them when I took my Saturn autocrossing before I got the body kit and they really stick nice. I'm debating a new set now but I might get some nicer rims first. Damn 4x100 pattern.

Make sure you get those rims that keep spinning after the car stops.

I dont use my ebrake. You can accomplish just as much with left foot braking. It helps stop understeer. By braking some you cause weight shift to the front. This helps the ass loosen up and in theory allows you to turn properly when you otherwise couldn't.
BTW: So no one thinks TOO bad of me. This girl is an ex GF and simply amazing in almost everyway a girl can be. Letting her go was a FAR bigger mistake then wreckless driving.

Try tires.com. Under their Discount Tires Direct, just put in your car's Year, Make, and Model, and it'll give you stock size tires and rims, and plus sizes. That site has helped me a lot for finding rims that'll fit 14" tires and match the stock rims' bolt pattern and offset (upgrading a '93 Metro hatchback from it's puny 12" stock tires and rims...

i have always had awesome luck with tirerack.com and i've gone through 2 sets of ecsta's and i love e'm, going through two sets was my faout and it still took me 80,000 the best tires in the world though, imo are firehawk sz50ep's i got 35,000 out of them in my blown 'maro and it hooked like a dream, was quiet lasted hooked had good wet traction hooked and ..... hooked. the best dry straight line traction i have ever seen in a tire you would want to be on when it's wet. but the tire rack has always been cheaper than anything i've found, and shipping is fast.
