I was looking for a way to flash my TSOP using my X2 Lite chip, but couldn't find anything other than "check xbox-scene tutorials", and there aren't any there (only for Matrix modchip). I did it this way today, and it worked fine for me.
Requirements:
- Solder the TSOP write-enable pins together (see xbox-scene for this).
- Be able to FTP into your xbox using your modchip.
- Have a BIOS image ready to flash onto your TSOP.
- If you've got an old-skool, 1MB TSOP, I suggest using a switch. With the switch on, it will only flash half/quarter of the BIOS, so if it goes wrong, you can switch to the other bank.
- You WILL NOT NEED any other 007 exploit, memory card, or anything like that.
Anyway, the way to go about it is this:
- install the X2 Lite (or any other modchip), and make sure you can FTP into your xbox.
- Download "fonthackpackage-dc.zip" from 'usual places'.
- Use FTP to copy all files from the above package into the correct places on your hard drive.
- Disconnect your modchip*.
- Reboot the Xbox, which will load retail bios, but with 'XBox Live' replaced with "Phoenix".
- Phoenix will load into Evox, you can then use that to flash your TSOP.
If you want, you can just leave the Phoenix on your dash instead of XBLive, and not flash the TSOP, it's just an extra couple of button presses.
Once you're done, you should be able to remove all the exploit files and restore your originals, and keep all your other files on the F drive.
* I had my xbox apart, so I completely removed the modchip, but I think just switching it off (switching d0) should be enough for this step.

Ah, good point. My Xbox was kernel 4817, and dashboard 4920. It's a v1.1.
I just noticed that there are no tutorials anywhere for flashing TSOP with an X2 modchip.

i wrote upa tutorial on how to flash using a font hack with a modchip, but it was too generalized and people got confused, im thinking of writing a new one using UDE, lol

I tried this but once I disabled my mod I got error21, is this because of my soldering, the way I transfered files or my dash?

9 times out of 10 error 21 on boot means you messed with some dashbaord files and now it doesnt want to load

I copied all the dash files from Slayers 2.6 and removed everything but evox and its ini. MS dash boots fine n dandy until I FTP the fonts across then get error 21 so I've limited it to either being the fonts or my dashboard version if its a dashboard problem?
Any ideas?
