i just got my xbox a v 1.6 and i got to looking on line an found that the chipping process is a little harder on the 1.6 so my friend and i are gunna trade my 1.6 for his 1.3 only if we can swap HDDs with no problem. Is there any thing special that we need to do or can we just take out our HDDs and install them in the other machines? for the most part we each just want to keep our original HDDs and trade everything else.

When both machines are chipped - unlock each hdd and transfer them over then relock them to the transfered machines.

You would only be able to do that if the 1.6 was chipped too (to allow you to unlock the HD), which would remove the necessity to swap the consoles at all
