Is there anyway to add support for the G drive to XB-FTP? If not, are there any other xbox FTP clients that support G?

it is not your client but your dash that is the issue.
you need to enable G: on FTP in your dash
ie in avalaunch you need to edit the xml to enable g: on ftp
