i have most of my games on my hard drive. but when i try to copy them to a dvd and make muti game cds they dont work except for maby 1 game out of 3 on the disc. im thinking that im putting the .xbe thats been patched for the hdd on the cd. but how do i know for sure. i took a game that my buddy had on a burned cd and copyied it, then i tryed one of those media patcher programs to see if it would find the string in the xbe and it did, but after burning the game the game would not load. so how do i know for sure that the xbe has not all ready been patched or does not need to be patched, also how do i know if i have a game that has a hdd xbe fix that only works on the hdd. hope that you understand my question. thanks for your time and help.

if you want your .xbes to be unpatched and you can't tell whether or not they are, just take them from the game discs.

yeah i was gonna say just compare the origional from the game disc and one that you think might be patched.

You would check this in a hex editor.

Nifty little program called dexbe. Link

"File|Open..." and point it to a .xbe file and it tells you (almost too much) info.

I think what you're looking for is on the third tab at the bottom.

Edit: Bad link fixed. Note: don't use the search in the tools page and then use that to link others to items. ohmy.gif
