This site pretty much answered every single question I've ever had about backing up my xbox games. Im thinking about picking up a PS2 for RPG purposes. Is there a site exactly like this for PS2 modding?

yup, ps2newz is the best ps2 forum out, it's al you need. They'll help you with everything, im on there as well b/c I was into ps2's before xboxes and that the most helpful resource on the net.
