Hey again last post with my problem or questions
I am going to buy another xbox probably a refurbished one from ebgames to get an older version. Are these quality boxes and will they most likely be older? (<1.6)
Then I install chip, flash bios, install dash. Lock hdd so I can play on Live, is this pretty much it? thanks

sounds like a good plan, of course it's a little more complicated than that, but I think you have the right idea. As far as eb's refurbished boxes, you can't be sure you're getting an older box unless you check before you buy it, just tell them you'd like to open the box to make sure there aren't any major scratches on it and while your looking at it flip it over and look at the manufacture date, it's on one of the stickers on the bottom, if it was made last year you're good to go.
